The Resort at the Mountain is a mile from the western base of Mount Hood and 30 miles east of Portland. The resort features 27 holes of golf in their Three Nines, which are grouped by difficulty and surrounded by Mount Hood National Forest. The property's Scottish themes run through the golf course, which includes Scottish Bunkers, Scottie dog tee markers, and Scottish clan crests.
The theme continues in The Scottish Shoppe, the property's Internet café and gift shop. Guests can dine at Tartans Steakhouse (open seasonally) or Highlands Restaurant, or have a drink at Balmoral Bar. All three venues offer extensive menus of Northwest wines and single-malt scotches.
In addition to a seasonal outdoor pool, the property offers a fitness center, which offers sports equipment to rent. The recreation manager offers personal coaching and organizes group activities. The spa tub is open all year, offering a warm, relaxing retreat for skiers. Ski storage is on site, and a ski shuttle stops at the resort.
